Coach trip to Bowes Museum

This year Skiddaw u3a Social trip will be on Friday the 5th June and is to the Bowes Museum, County Durham. If you have not been before it is a magnificent ‘palace’ designed in the style of a French chateau, hosting a fabulous art collection.

The coach will be leaving the Quaker House (opposite  Booths, Keswick) at 8.30, with pick ups at Threlkeld village and Sportsman's Bar (if requested) and and should be back by 6pm. The coach has a toilet on board. 

On the outward journey there will be a stop at Mainsgill Farm for 30 mins. This is just past the turning for Bowes so we go back on ourselves to the museum. Your entry to Bowes Museum is included in the price. The museum is fully accessible, with a level entrance and lift to all floors. Cafe Bowes has both indoor and outdoor seating, last orders at 2.30pm. The centre of Barnard Castle is a 15-minute walk away and Friday is not a market day, but there are plenty of shops and cafes etc. in the town. 

Cost £30 per person. NOTE the trip is only open to Skiddaw u3a members.
