The Social Cycling group meets every other Tuesday. Some rides start from Keswick, others further afield to take advantage of quieter roads. We usually cycle about 20 -30 miles. The pace, length and undulations of our rides will not suit everyone and our rides might not be suitable for those on recumbent bikes. We always have a coffee stop at some point of our ride! We are a very successful group and numbers cycling are usually between 20 -25.

Members will be emailed over the week-end prior to a ride of with details of the ride. We are currently riding in groups of no more than twelve.

The only requirements are a cycling helmet and a road worthy bike. If you would like to join the group or require any further information please contact the convenor Rosemary Eatwell using the link above.

Skiddaw u3a has three cycling groups Easy Wheelers, Social Cycling and Power Biking, meeting on alternate Tuesdays for the first two and on the fourth Thursday of the month for the latter.

Please note that all three cycling groups operate administratively as a single group so by signing up for this group you are also joining the other two.

If you join this group you will receive emails for all the rides, there is no obligation to ride just attend those that suit you. We suggest that new or returning cyclist ride with the Easy Wheelers first to get a measure of the level of fitness required.
